Simple and fun enough for a child to use
I used to manually edit gif files (tedious!) to add the reverse half of the loop to eliminate the typical jerky movement.. GIPHY does that automatically when you select “Ping-Pong” mode. And nothing could be easier than positioning and sizing a translucent window to fit over a video or part of a video to create a .gif file. Editing is super simple with slider controls to select the exact the loop you want. Also, you CAN edit the file in Preview and remove frames or reduce picture size / resolution to reduce the overall file size. My original file was 3.8 MB. I deleted every other frame in Preview and it reduced the gif file to 1.8 MB. You can also edit the color of each frame, providing the opportunity for some fun effects. (You might run into trouble if you delete the first and last photo in the set.) I can’t believe this program is free.
