Best app for recording and sharing sharing animations. I haven’t found anything that’s such low friction to genereate animated gifs. The downloader and URL genereator are fantastic!!! Only wish was a higher quiality / frame-rate for recording.

Very simple and straightforward!

1. Hilight area should somehow be visible while recording. 2. should be able to close the green square without completely quitting the app. 3. Perhaps ability to post to different services like dropbox, rackspace cloud files. (see Dropshare)

I’m trying to use it to create GIFs that involve Google Maps. The color selection is so low that the maps do not look like maps. If this can be fixed it will be a much better app.

This app is ok if you’re looking for literally nothing but a 30 second max screengrab. There’s literally no options other than to hide the mouse cursor. You can’t change the max recording time, so anything longer than 30 seconds automatically gets cut off. This was a deal breaker for me and I found LICEcap intead.

Just needs to be able to work with fullscreen apps and it’s perfect :)

I saw a GIF online that gave me a design idea for my business, so I wanted to save it to show my coworker later, but I didn’t know how. A quick Google brought me to GifGrabber, and it works more smoothly and perfectly than I expected. Really great design for this app! Intuitive, minimal, and quick to use.

This is by far the best GIF grabber, should be a paid app, it’s just that good :)

if you are trying to capature parts of games, retro stuff (pixel art) or flat colour heavy stuff, this app falls flat on it’s face. The colours automatically get weighted and you are left with things that are the wrong colour, not good for indie games developers. Frame rate is better than LICEcap, why I can give this a 3/5 - but if you are looking for colour accuracy, this app cannot deliver. It’s probably fine for video.

Woke up and found out gifgrabber has been updated to giphy. It looked cool at glance but 1)it requires extra space to record 2) there is no way to calculate the size of the gifs 3) u cannot make gif on full screen mode. I was pretty satisfied with gifgrabber and I wished I had a choice to stick with it than get updated to giphy without any notice. I guess it is time to look for other software or app. so disappointing.

Wanted to quickly convert something to a GIF and this app did it without a hitch. Software like this should not be free. Please take my money.

The application does what it promises, with no technical issues whatsoever. The interface could be better, but hey, it’s free!

…so goes the description and it really is! It took me a few seconds to understand what I had to do in order to capture, create and edit the gif. Really useful app!

I also found gifgrabber, while a little unattractive, far, far superior to this capture program. Being able to go frame by frame, create high quality gifs, and also resize to any size (even very small) areas was very important. Also, you can’t see how large the final file is, and the UI is pretty bulky. Give me back the gifgrabber functionality, please!

Who knows, maybe it has something useful behind that pretty face, but it is very hard to relate to: got no help option, no menus or details, no preferences settings or any other ways to figure out how to optimize its use or how to tweak anything about it, or how to get any information about the files that it creates or how to deal with them… not sure why someone would create such an obscure software especially when it is meant to do such a simple but important job.

This is a great tool. It’s well built, stable, and very easy to use. Why two stars? Because I use this tool to capture text, and the quality of the GIF is very poor when captured from a retina display. This makes text barely legible, which is unfortunate.

Gif grabber is one of those tools that understands the definition of perfection. Keep it simple, bug free and straight to the point. Thank You and much love!
